Information for current IB students

In 2008, St. Andrew's was authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Diploma Programme. The International Baccalaureate (IB) works with approximately 3,000 schools in 139 countries to offer IB programmes to more than 600,000 students. St. Andrew's is pleased to have the distinction of being selected as the only independent school in the region to offer the IB Diploma Programme, one of only three private schools in the state of Georgia. Specifically, the IB Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum for students in their last two years of high school. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world's leading universities. Students learn more than a collection of facts. The Diploma Programme prepares students for higher education and encourages them to:
  • ask challenging questions
  • learn how to be self-learners
  • develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture
  • develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures
